The match up will be televised live by HBO’s World Championship Boxing and in the Philippines it is aired in ABS-CBN via satellite on May 4, 2008.
The main event of the night were Oscar Dela Hoya and Steve Forbes. De La Hoya a former champion of six weight category and holding a record of W-38, L-5, KO-30 while Forbes a former champion in the 130 pounds weight class holding a record of W-34, L-5 and KO-9. During the fight De La Hoya almost got all the rounds. He dominates the fight and he was the one dictating the tempo. De La Hoya has many advantages against Forbes, his punching power, height and reach. Forbes although has no knockout power, but he has the hand speed and movement speed.
After the 12 rounds of boxing, De La Hoya won the fight by a unanimous decision.
